Mrs Doreen McGerrigle: Proposed by Mrs Sylvia Blair and seconded by Mrs Joyce Vaughan
Initial discussion took place over what should be done to contact past pupils and friends of the school, and it was decided that the first thing that should be done was to set up a website and e-mail address which could then be publicised. It would also help us to ascertain the level of interest to help with planning. A number of actions arose from the general discussions:
1. Mr Lacey is to contact Rajnish Bhaskar about development of the website and also talk to Miss Arkinson within the school.
2. Mrs Sylvia Blair is to contact Austin Hunter from the Newsletter to ask about possible publicity.
3. Mrs Doreen McGerrigle is to put an advertisement on the Friends Reunited website when details of the Jubilee website and e-mail addresses are available.
4. Mrs Heather Sayers is to contact Mr Ronald Laird (former pupil and past chair of the Former Pupils Association)
Everyone at the meeting was asked to draw up lists of as many former pupils as they could, with addresses, and e-mail addresses if possible, so that a database of names can be constructed.
Mrs Hazel Faithful offered to write the press release and to contact radio stations and newspapers to publicise the events.
Finally, it was decided to hold a brainstorming meeting to decide on what events should be held for the celebration. As many people as possible are to be invited to this meeting in approximately 3 weeks time. The date is to be confirmed by Mrs Heather Sayers.
